Residents of the Bela Estate jhuggis have found their names missing from Delhi’s draft electoral rolls. Following demolitions mandated by court orders, election officials have cited problems with address proof and issues surrounding unauthorized settlement status. Despite years of living and voting in the area, many, including Dulari Devi, have been labeled as ‘permanently shifted’ from the floodplain.
