Sarfaraz was kept out of the scheme of things after India lost a Test series 0-3 against New Zealand at home in 2024. He did travel to Australia for the subsequent Test tour but wasn’t given any matches. Sarfaraz will join the team in Colombo on Monday after the BCCI on Sunday announced Sudharsan was still recovering from a stress reaction on his right toe.
