China develops laser telescope that can see objects as wide as a matchstick head from over a kilometre away

Chinese researchers have engineered a laser system capable of discerning minute text and details from a distance of 1.36 kilometers. This innovative method, employing active intensity interferometry, achieves a 14-fold improvement in resolution compared to traditional optical imaging. The system uses infrared lasers and dual telescopes, paving the way for high-resolution imaging and optical sensing.
