Oracle layoffs have reached Abilene, Texas, the flagship Stargate data center Oracle cites as proof its OpenAI deal is on track. One OCI employee said on r/employeesOfOracle that he learnt he was fired only when his badge failed at the gate. Oracle severance is four weeks’ pay plus a week per year served. Slack counts fell by about 3,200 as US cuts hit OCI, Fusion, NetSuite and Oracle Health.
