Mutual funds cut cash allocation by Rs 8,500 crore in August to Rs 1.82 lakh crore; ICICI Pru MF leads reduction

August witnessed a significant decrease in cash holdings among mutual funds, with a collective reduction of nearly Rs 8,502 crore across 27 asset management companies. Leading the charge, ICICI Prudential Mutual Fund cut back its cash by Rs 4,314 crore. In contrast, both Bandhan and Kotak Mutual Funds chose to expand their cash positions, while six AMCs collectively held cash portfolios surpassing Rs 10,000 crore.
