Jingdezhen, China’s historic porcelain capital, is finding new uses for ceramic waste that might otherwise be dumped or buried. Businesses are crushing and reformulating broken porcelain into material for vases, planters, tableware and architectural products. The approach builds on centuries of local reuse while addressing as much as 90,000 tonnes of discarded porcelain produced in the city each year.
