In an innovative move towards sustainability, a UK nuclear waste site is now incorporating recycled plastic sleepers into its infrastructure. Each sleeper is made up of ninety kilograms of recycled plastic waste and is engineered to last between fifty to one hundred years. As the first site of its kind to implement this initiative, the aim is to enhance the environmental footprint of the repository.
