A 29-year-old woman was arrested in Vilavoorkal for allegedly killing her one-and-a-half-year-old daughter. Neighbours heard cries and found the child with a severe neck injury. The child was taken to a hospital but later succumbed to her injuries. Preliminary questioning revealed the mother admitted to the act, with family issues suspected. Police registered a murder case and will produce the accused in court.
