Recent DNA analyses have unveiled the identities of four additional sailors from the tragic Franklin expedition. Researchers successfully identified Harry Peglar, a captain aboard the HMS Terror, along with three crew members from the HMS Erebus, including John Bridgens, through genetic assessment. Notably, a descendant of Bridgens, a BBC journalist, emerged during this groundbreaking study. These findings enhance our understanding of the 1845 Arctic expedition’s mystery.
