One person died and ten were rescued after an under-construction church floor collapsed near Katpadi. Rescue operations are ongoing for one more person reportedly trapped under the debris. The rescued workers received treatment at local government and private hospitals. Vellore district collector Leela Alex visited the site and ordered a detailed inquiry. Police are investigating the circumstances that led to the tragic building collapse.
