‘Won’t attend inauguration’: Nitin Gadkari calls Mumbai-Goa highway delay ‘shameful’

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari called the Mumbai-Goa highway delay shameful and vowed strict action. He will not attend the inauguration, feeling ashamed of the extensive project delays. Gadkari plans to travel the highway in October to personally assess traveler convenience. He also pledged to blacklist many contractors and suspend officials within a year. The minister inaugurated a six-lane elevated road corridor near Panaji.
