Five names, 17 cases: Kerala man allegedly fooled victims across India for 30 years

A Kerala man, using a web of false identities for nearly three decades, was finally apprehended. He posed as government agents from NIA and RAW to swindle victims and is connected to about seventeen cheating and extortion cases across multiple states. Investigators successfully tracked him down in Kannur, thanks to a public event photo, where he was using the name Daniel Tharakan.
