OpenAI has claimed a breakthrough on the Navier-Stokes existence and smoothness problem, one of the seven Millennium Prize Problems. The company said about 10,000 AI agents worked simultaneously for 88 hours, exchanging nearly 3 million messages and producing around 130 billion output tokens. OpenAI said its proposed solution addresses two of the four required statements. The result has not been independently verified or accepted by the Clay Mathematics Institute.
