A four-storey PG building collapsed in Delhi’s Satya Niketan near Delhi University’s South Campus on Sunday during repair work, killing seven and trapping more as rescue operations stretched into a second day. Students, residents and NDRF teams worked through the night, forming human chains, ordering oxygen cylinders via quick-commerce apps, and using JCBs, hydraulic cutters and sniffer dogs to reach survivors. Twelve people were rescued. Building owner Hariram was later arrested in Rajasthan after a multi-state manhunt. It’s the fifth major building collapse in Delhi this year.
