IIT Mandi has ordered an inquiry after a Bhagavad Gita-themed poster displayed during Janmashtami sparked controversy for describing Shudras as meant to “serve higher classes”. Director Laxmidhar Behera distanced the institute from the student-led display, condemned caste discrimination and said the panel would examine how the poster was created and displayed.
