The government has sold approximately four thousand tonnes of buffer onions. This subsidized sale is occurring across seventeen cities to curb rising prices. Agencies NCCF and Nafed are distributing stored onions via rail and trucks. Onions are being sold at a subsidized rate of thirty-five rupees per kilogram.
