India’s petrol and diesel sales surged in August as erratic monsoon rainfall increased demand from farmers and motorists. Petrol consumption at state-run retailers rose 9.1% year-on-year, while diesel sales jumped 10.2%. LPG demand, however, fell 16.1%.
