Kolkata, south Bengal hit by heavy rain; waterlogging disrupts traffic

Heavy rain lashed Kolkata and south Bengal districts on Tuesday morning. A stationary low-pressure system caused waterlogging and disrupted office-hour traffic significantly. Kalaikunda recorded the highest rainfall, with Kolkata also receiving substantial amounts. The weather office forecasts continued heavy rain until Wednesday morning. Sub-Himalayan districts will experience heavy rainfall until September 4.
