NPCI International Payments Ltd. and Uzbekistan’s HUMO have signed a commercial agreement. Indian travellers can now use UPI-enabled apps to scan UZQR codes. This pact allows instant merchant payments across Uzbekistan for tourists and students. The agreement removes foreign exchange mark-ups and the need for cash. UPI is now operational in ten countries for digital payments.
