MicahJo Barnett, a 20-year-old William Jewell College running back, died after a medical emergency during the team’s season opener against Fort Lewis College. Barnett had scored a touchdown shortly before collapsing on the sideline. He was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The college and Barnett’s former school community are mourning the young football player’s death.
