The Javits Convention Center in Manhattan became safer for birds after a major renovation. Thousands of glass panels were replaced with low-reflection glass, reducing bird collisions by over ninety percent. A large green roof was added, providing a vital stopover for migrating birds. This rooftop habitat now supports sixty-five bird species and other wildlife. The project demonstrates how urban infrastructure can accommodate wildlife.
