The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs has approved four major railway projects aimed at improving freight movement and passenger connectivity across several states. The projects will add around 410 kilometres to the Indian Railways network and are expected to support an additional 76 million tonnes of freight traffic annually. The expansion is being carried out under the PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan, with a focus on improving connectivity and logistics efficiency.
