After being ravaged by erosion, Crab Bank island has been revitalized through the innovative use of dredged harbor sediment. This restoration effort has generated around thirty-two acres of vibrant new nesting areas for birds, quickly transforming it into a thriving breeding ground. In the inaugural breeding season post-reconstruction, over five hundred nests were recorded, exemplifying the effective repurposing of dredged materials for ecological rejuvenation.
