A man from Tumkur in Karnataka opened 2 gold loan accounts at a Canara Bank branch by pledging 2 items of gold each under both, in August 2017. The gold jewellery, kept in the custody of the Canara Bank branch, was robbed. On noticing the robbery of gold articles, the bank issued a letter dated July 26, 2018, to the borrower and offered to pay the gold value. Yet the borrower filed a complaint the District Commission.
