A Maharashtra police inspector is lauded for his bravery during an attack on Sukhbir Singh Badal. Inspector Santosh Vaijnath Kendre acted as a human shield, risking his own life. The attacker, identified as Jaspal Singh, approached Badal with a kirpan inside a gurdwara. Kendre sustained injuries while preventing further harm to the Shiromani Akali Dal chief. Jaspal Singh, who holds law and commerce degrees, was taken into custody for questioning.
