European stock markets edged higher on Friday, supported by gains in healthcare stocks, while rising oil prices and renewed Middle East tensions kept investors cautious ahead of the closely watched U.S. non-farm payrolls report.

Most of the group stocks traded with cuts of up to 4 per cent following the report. Crown jewel Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) was the top loser with a 4.12 per cent decline.
