India’s Petronet says no clarity on September LNG supplies from Qatar

Petronet LNG of India faces challenges in securing a reliable Qatari natural gas supply for September due to Qatar’s force majeure announcement, affecting 56 cargoes. To compensate, Indian firms are diversifying their LNG imports from Oman, the US, Nigeria, and Angola. Existing contracts indicate that any late Qatari deliveries could be postponed until April 2028. Simultaneously, Petronet’s agreement guarantees 600,000 metric tons of LNG from the Gorgon project in Australia.
