Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann met the Governor seeking parole for Jagtar Singh Hawara. Mann requested ten days’ parole on humanitarian grounds for Hawara to see his mother. The Governor assured Mann he would discuss the matter with the Union home secretary. Former Union Minister Ravneet Singh Bittu also supported this compassionate humanitarian move. Bittu stated an aged mother should not suffer punishment for her son’s actions.
