The Government is expanding scholarship and fellowship support for students from different social groups pursuing higher education and research. In the Rajya Sabha, Union Minister of State for Education Dr Sukanta Majumdar highlighted key initiatives, including the National Scholarship for Post Graduate Studies and the Savitribai Jyotirao Phule Post Graduate Fellowship for Single Girl Child. In FY 2025-26, the Central Government is providing about 1.09 crore scholarships for post-matric and higher education, with funds transferred directly through DBT.
