NCERT has been granted Institution Deemed to be University status by the Ministry of Education. This decision followed an expert committee examination by the University Grants Commission. The new status is expected to strengthen NCERT’s educational research and innovation capabilities. It will also enable collaborations with national and international agencies. NCERT will continue its role as a think tank and resource institution.
