AIIMS Delhi successfully performed a dual kidney transplant using organs from an elderly donor. This procedure utilized both kidneys from a 70-year-old deceased woman for a 56-year-old recipient. The transplant, which occurred on July 28, highlights the potential of marginal donor organs. The recipient recovered well and was discharged after ten days with normal function. This marks AIIMS’ second successful dual transplant from an elderly donor.
