India’s hydrogen train has run nearly 2,500 km in commercial operations since its launch. This pilot project aims to assess hydrogen propulsion’s viability for wider railway network adoption. The train operates on the Jind-Sonipat route and produces no carbon dioxide emissions. Future expansion depends on resource availability and operational feasibility assessments, Minister Vaishnaw said.
