Around 2,100 budgerigars, cockatiels, and finches were transported for over 32 hours from Howrah to CSMT. PETA India reported that many birds arrived unconscious or dead due to overcrowding and lack of care. The railway police filed an FIR, but numerous birds remain unaccounted for after being sold. PETA is urging authorities to recover the missing birds and continue the investigation thoroughly.
