IIT-Bombay Alumni Association has condemned online speculation, media trials and “hasty conclusions” over the death by suicide of second-year BTech student Sahil Wakode. The alumni body called for a fair, transparent and speedy investigation conducted without prejudice, while stressing the need for a safe and supportive campus environment. It also said it would work with the institute to strengthen mental-health resources, student well-being and trust.
