Approval from the Union Cabinet has been secured for the construction of the 4-lane Baihata Chariali–Tezpur Highway project, covering a stretch of 135 km with an investment of Rs 8,970 crore. The highway promises to cut down travel durations significantly and enhance connectivity, thus fostering economic activity across the northern banks of the Brahmaputra River.
