Five fishermen bravely rescued a newborn elephant calf from the Teesta river. They spotted the calf struggling and pulled it onto their small row boat. Forest personnel provided immediate veterinary care to the distressed young elephant. Efforts were then made to reunite the calf with its mother. After two hours, the calf was successfully reunited and seen nursing.
