Dixon Technologies shares fell despite strong Q1 FY27 results, with PAT surging 156% YoY to Rs 718 crore and revenue rising 25% to Rs 16,076 crore. EBITDA jumped 105% to Rs 991 crore, while profit before tax rose 137% to Rs 869 crore.
Thangamayil Jewellery shares fell 5%, extending their one-week decline to 32%, after the company said it saw no visible improvement in sales during the first 28 days of Q2 FY27. The jeweller attributed the weakness to higher import duty, rupee depreciation, geopolitical uncertainty and continued customer reluctance amid expectations of lower gold prices.
Jio Financial Services shares rose, extending their weekly gains beyond 10%, after the company fixed August 10 as the record date for its Rs 0.60 per share final dividend for FY26. The payout is subject to shareholder approval at the upcoming AGM.
Japanese stocks tumbled as a sharp rally in the yen weighed on export-oriented companies, with the Nikkei falling over 2%. Auto and chip stocks led the declines, although SoftBank, Lasertec and Kioxia outperformed. Investors are now watching for further currency intervention and its impact on corporate earnings and market sentiment.
